Did you know that the Wyndham City Council has commissioned a master plan for the Mossfiel Reserve which recommends the removal of the Mossfiel Hall?

The Council has posted some information on their web site which can be found by clicking here. Please have a look at this so called “Master Plan” and let the Council know that it’s just not good enough!

As is the norm with these types of grand plans, the consultants engaged to conduct the study and draw up the plan, have completely failed to understand the significance of what facilities are currently in place. Their stroke of genius would see the Mossfiel Hall and a number of the other current buildings situated within the reserve removed and replaced with the single “Multi-Use Facility”. They plan for this “Multi-Use Facility” to include Club rooms, pavillion and change rooms for the sporting Clubs that use the reserve, together with meeting, storage and function space.

So where does that leave Mossfiel Hall? The short answer is GONE! The current user groups would have to close down or re-locate, and all the casual users of the hall, who hold their Christening, confirmation and family gatherings there and all the children who enjoy the great atmosphere for their birthday party will have to go elsewhere. Not that there is really anywhere else to go.

The Apex Mossfiel Hall Committee of Management and the community of Wyndham need your help to SAVE MOSSFIEL HALL.

Please let the Wyndham Council know that you do not support the removal of the Mossfiel Hall. Contact Sarah Sytema at Wyndham City Council by telephone on 8734 5458 or email mossfielreserve@wyndham.vic.gov.au and tell the Council in no uncertain terms that the Mossfiel Hall MUST be retained.
